Client: City of Philadelphia / Rebuild
    Location: Philadelphia, PA
    Overall Project Investment: $21 Million

    Project Overview

The redevelopment of Vare Recreation Center represents a major investment in Philadelphia’s Grays Ferry and Point Breeze communities. The $21 million project replaced the former recreation center with a new 18,700-square-foot facility designed to provide expanded opportunities for recreation, education, technology, and community programming.

As a Trade Partner on the larger project, Torrado Construction contributed concrete and masonry construction to the new facility. Torrado’s scope included masonry associated with the gymnasium, restrooms, and other interior spaces, along with exterior block, concrete, and masonry work.

The project demonstrates Torrado’s ability to bring specialized trade expertise and dependable field execution to a complex, large-scale public construction program while working as part of a broader construction team.
